Heavy snowfall, frequent lightning, and possible tornado events and flood warnings are all tracked by the station's 11 Storm Team, and alerts and information about these severe weather conditions are quickly put online by them.
But for you to keep up with weather alerts even faster, KKTV 11 News has fashioned a small and neat application, the 11 News Alert program. You can download it free of charge from their site, and it will bring breaking weather and News alerts straight to your desktop. 11 News Alert displays local and National Doppler and county specific weather warnings to you, as well as an hourly Forecast for up to 4 locations. Its icon sits in your taskbar displaying your local temperature, but if a severe weather warning comes in, 11 News Alert will play a sound to catch your attention and display a text crawl across your computer's screen displaying the urgent information that you need, saving you crucial warning minutes. |
